Upon a Starlit Tide is a historical fantasy inspired by the fairy tales of Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, with a touch of romance and mystery. The maim character, Lucinda Leone, is the youngest daughter of a wealthy merchant sailor. Intolerant of her family's expectations, Lucinda dreams of the freedom of the sea and spends her days on the ocean shore, longing to sail into the unknown. Her only confidant is Samuel, an English smuggler who shares her love of the sea and understands her sense of unease.

Everything changes when, after a storm, Lucinda saves a mysterious dying sailor, dragged by the waves. A deep and inexplicable bond develops between the two, but his presence brings with it dark secrets and omens. As Lucinda tries to understand the meaning of her increasingly obsessive desires for the ocean, she discovers that magic is disappearing from the world and that her fate may be tied to that loss.
