📘 LUNARYA
Official Policy on Damage, Replacements, and Right of Withdrawal
Lunarya creates limited edition books, hand-finished and inspired by collectibility.
Each copy undergoes visual inspection before shipping.
Books are physical goods produced and handled through industrial and manual processes. Minor variations and aesthetic imperfections may occur and do not automatically constitute a defect.
To ensure fairness and prevent abuse, Lunarya applies objective and measurable criteria as outlined below.
By completing the purchase, the customer declares that they have read and fully accepted this policy.
📏 1. WHAT IS CONSIDERED RECOGNIZABLE DAMAGE
A book is considered damaged exclusively when imperfections exceed the measurable thresholds indicated below. Recognizable damage varies depending on whether it is:
A Lunarya Edition, meaning fully produced by Lunarya through reprint, and labeled on the product page as “Lunarya Edition.”
Or a Bookstore Edition, meaning a base volume supplied directly by the original publisher, and labeled with the name of the respective publisher (e.g. “X Edition”) on the product page.
1.1 LUNARYA EDITIONS
📚 Hardcover / Casebound / Soft-touch
✔ Dents or crushing exceeding 15 mm
✔ Tears exceeding 10 mm
✔ Cuts passing through the cover material
✔ Permanently bent spine with visible deformation exceeding 5 mm
✔ Detachment of the cover from the book block
📄 Dust Jacket (Lunarya Custom Editions)
✔ Tears exceeding 10 mm
✔ Structural fold exceeding 20 mm
✔ Through-cuts
✔ Multiple deep creases significantly altering the front appearance
✔ Severely smudged or missing print over an area exceeding 25 mm
📑 Internal Pages
✔ Missing pages
✔ Duplicate pages
✔ Tears exceeding 10 mm
✔ Printing errors that compromise readability
✔ Severely misaligned page block
🎨 Colored Edges / Spray Edges / Stencil
✔ Missing color over an area exceeding 20 mm
✔ Bleeding penetrating more than 3 mm into the internal pages
✔ Design misalignment exceeding 5 mm
❌ WHAT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A DEFECT
The following are not considered damage:
- Micro surface scratches
- Pressure marks under 15 mm
- Light corner wear
- Slight dust jacket waviness
- Color variations between copies
- Minor imperfections in spray edges
- Production lines or marks
- Imperfections visible only in direct light
- Alignment differences under 5 mm
- Minor marks due to international shipping
Lunarya Editions are not sealed, certified, or graded as “mint” collectible copies.
Minor aesthetic imperfections that do not affect structure or readability do not constitute a defect.
📚 1.2 BOOKSTORE EDITIONS (SUPPLIED BY THE PUBLISHER)
Some Lunarya editions include a base volume supplied directly by the original publisher.
Lunarya does not participate in the industrial printing, binding, or packaging process of the base book.
Books sourced from retail distribution are industrial products and may present minor characteristics typical of large-scale production and handling.
They are not classified as perfect-condition collectible copies.
All measurements are assessed at the longest visible point of the imperfection.

✔ Print damage or missing area exceeding 30 mm
📑 Interior
✔ Missing pages
✔ Duplicate page blocks
✔ Severe printing errors compromising readability
❌ The following do not constitute a defect in Bookstore Editions
- Light edge wear
- Corners under 20 mm
- Folds under 25 mm
- Micro scratches
- Slight warehouse waviness
- Paper trim variations
- Slight page block misalignment
- Typical industrial handling marks
Aesthetic imperfections typical of retail distribution do not constitute a defect.
📸 2. DAMAGE REPORTING PROCEDURE
Requests must be submitted within 14 days of delivery exclusively to alice@lunarya.co.
Requests sent via social media or other channels will not be considered valid.
The report must include:
- Clear photos of the damage
- Full photos of the book
- Photo of the external packaging
- Order number
- Clear photo of the imperfection with a ruler placed directly next to the affected area, showing measurement in millimeters
The ruler must be clearly visible and aligned directly next to the imperfection, without perspective distortion.
Measurements are assessed at the longest visible point of the imperfection.
Final measurement determination rests with Lunarya based on the photographic documentation provided.
Incomplete requests cannot be processed.
Each case is evaluated individually.
🔄 3. REPLACEMENT OR COMPENSATION
If the damage falls within the criteria of Section 1:
- Lunarya may offer a partial or full refund at its discretion
- Alternatively, a replacement may be offered, if available and always at Lunarya’s discretion
Replacement is limited to one copy per order, unless otherwise decided by Lunarya.
In cases of minor aesthetic imperfections that do not exceed the stated thresholds, Lunarya may offer partial compensation at its discretion.
Return shipping costs will be reimbursed exclusively in the presence of recognized major structural damage under Section 1.
🌍 4. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS (INCLUDING USA)
International shipments involve multiple handling phases and customs inspections.
Lunarya is not responsible for:
- Minor aesthetic imperfections caused by customs inspections
- Delays due to customs clearance
- Duties, taxes, or brokerage fees
- For orders shipped outside the European Union:
Any returns involving international shipping costs, duties, or taxes remain the responsibility of the customer, unless the product presents major structural damage as defined in Section 1.
Refunds do not include duties or international shipping costs already incurred, unless required by law.
Repeated or abusive claims may result in limitations on future purchases.
📦 5. PREORDERS
Preorders enter production planning immediately after confirmation.
Once production has begun, cancellation is not guaranteed and may incur administrative or handling costs.
Preorders are considered binding once production has started.

↩ 6. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
Where provided by applicable law, the customer may exercise the right of withdrawal within 14 days of delivery. All communication must be sent via email to alice@lunarya.co
Conditions:
- The product must be unused
- It must be returned in original condition
- It must include the original packaging
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless major structural damage is recognized.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the return.
⚖ POLICY ACCEPTANCE
By completing the purchase, the customer declares acceptance of:
- The measurable criteria stated above
- That minor aesthetic imperfections do not constitute a defect
- That subjective aesthetic dissatisfaction does not constitute damage
- That promotional images are representative and may present slight variations
Personal preferences, change of mind, or subjective expectations do not constitute a product defect.
The Preventive Dispute Resolution clause provided in the General Terms and Conditions of Sale shall also apply to this policy.
